Accountant – REIT

We are partnering with a national REIT in San Diego to source an Accountant for their team.  This individual will be a key member of their corporate accounting team and be involved with the close, financial reporting and audit support.  The ideal candidate will have BS in Accounting / Finance, a CPA or in process, 1-2 years of public accounting experience.   This role has a great management team that mentors and develops their staff.

Every Friday work from home and 4 weeks of PTO to start!

The Accountant will provide general accounting support including accounts receivable, accounts payable and certain treasury functions including bank transfers and reconciliations. The Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager and will be asked to support all team members within the company, including but not limited to the Senior Accountants, Financial Reporting Manager, CAO, CFO, and COO on an as-needed basis and with all aspects of the company’s business.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

• Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account/bank reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes
• Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts
• Prepare depreciation, amortization and supporting schedules for investments in real estate, prepaid expenses and other assets
• Respond to information requests and assist with audits
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and tax reporting requirements
• Prepare invoices for tenants in accordance with executed lease agreements/amendments and approved rent schedule
• Review and process vendor invoices, including 1099 reporting where applicable

Job Specifications / Work Experience / Skill Requirements:

• BA/BS in accounting or finance or related field
• Experience with accounting software and proficiency with MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, is required
• Detail-oriented with strong follow-through skills
